PAGA
PICTURES
Elevated Commercial Cinema
with Spiritual Architecture.
Independent.
Disciplined.
Atlanta-Built.
Paga Pictures is an Atlanta-based independent production company developing elevated commercial films in action, thriller, and sci-fi. We operate with the structure and discipline of a professional production outfit — lean by design, singular in vision.
Our films are built for the market first. Commercial viability, genre performance, and distribution pathways are mapped from the first page. Spiritual architecture is embedded in the storytelling — not marketed as a selling point.

Evidence of
Execution.
Before a feature film is financed, the question every serious investor asks is simple: can this filmmaker actually direct? These two short films answer that question. Made independently, without a studio, without a large budget — they exist as proof that the craft is already present. The instinct for story, performance, and consequence was here before the capital arrived.
Shattered Reflections
A man grappling with the loss of his son to a police shooting is forced into therapy — and crosses paths with a doctor carrying the same grief. What emerges is a connection neither expected, and a path neither planned.
What it demonstrates: emotional restraint, performance direction, dual-character tension, thematic weight without preaching.
The Pink Lid
A man carries an object that does not belong in his hands — and everything that does not get said. Six minutes of silence, weight, and consequence built entirely on what a character cannot bring himself to speak.
What it demonstrates: visual storytelling without dialogue, masculine grief, tonal control, economy of means.

Four Positions.
One Film.
Paga Pictures is actively seeking four key collaborators for its first feature, Six Point Seven. These are not entry-level positions. We are looking for people who have done the work, understand what it means to serve a story, and want to bring that discipline to a production that is built to matter.
Director of Photography
We need a DP who understands how to build dread and tension through light and frame — not just beauty. Six Point Seven is a disaster thriller with psychological depth. The visual language must carry both the physical chaos of a city in collapse and the interior fracture of five characters under pressure. We are looking for someone who shoots with intention, not style for its own sake.
Editor
Editing is where performance lives or dies. We need an editor who understands rhythm, silence, and consequence — someone who knows that the cut after a pivotal moment is as important as the moment itself. The film's structure is built around five converging storylines. The edit must hold tension across all of them without losing the audience in the complexity.
Script Supervisor
Continuity on a disaster thriller is not a clerical function — it is a creative one. We need a script supervisor who is fully in the room, not just on the page. Someone who catches what the camera misses, protects the edit before it begins, and understands that every coverage decision has downstream consequences. Meticulous, present, and fast.
Stylist
Costume and styling in this film is character biography. Each of the five strangers carries their life on their body — their clothing, their worn edges, their choices — before a single word is spoken. We need a stylist who reads character deeply, researches with rigor, and builds looks that survive both the chaos of a disaster sequence and the intimacy of a two-person scene.
Craft
Technical excellence and creative depth are not in conflict here. We expect both. The work demands the best from everyone it touches.
Professionalism
On-time. Prepared. Accountable. Independent production moves fast and requires collaborators who protect that momentum, not drain it.
Story Service
Every decision — in frame, in cut, in costume — serves the story. The work is the priority. Ego does not enter the room.

A.S. Rawls
Founder · Director · Producer · Writer
A.S. Rawls (known creatively as A.R. Shy) founded Paga Pictures to develop elevated commercial films built around moral pressure, spiritual consequence, and cinematic scale. He writes, directs, and produces every project — maintaining singular creative authority from page to screen.
Rawls was born in Pennsylvania and formed as a filmmaker in Atlanta, Georgia. He operates from the conviction that commercial viability and artistic conviction are not in conflict. They are the standard.
The Name
Paga — from the Hebrew pāgaʿ — means to encounter, to intercede, and to strike with impact. The name was chosen before its meaning was fully known. What was discovered reframed everything the company would become.
The Approach
Films are engineered, not improvised. Escalation is deliberate. Structure is load-bearing. Every project is developed with commercial rigor and distributed with market awareness from the first draft.
The Conviction
Spiritual architecture is embedded in the storytelling — surfacing through character, consequence, and moral pressure. It is not marketed. It does not require a label. It is present in every frame.
The Vision
Paga Pictures is being built for the long term — growing its slate, deepening its craft, and earning a permanent seat in elevated commercial cinema. The foundation is being laid now.
